My static is terrible, but it is not very noticeable in a moving in a car. I can easily identify objects, the static does not obstruct my view, it is just there. Just like thick static on a t.v. screen. It this phenomenon persistent for you? I've had friends explain to me visual symptoms that sound like what I experience, but theirs are transient whereas mine are permanent. I am absolutely never completely unaware of the static and it is extremely disruptive when I have to read or look focus my attention on anything, such as a persons face in a conversation. I don't know if that helps, but thought I'd share.
